If you succeed, you’ll be prompted to head to a decontamination zone (basically a safe room) to regroup before heading into the next part of the map to tackle the next mission. That said, running through any given area will lead to you being overwhelmed. Each one is timed and housed in its own section of the map. They range from killing a certain number of elite Archæan to rescuing a missing Operator. Each map is split into three zones, each of which having its own specific goals to complete. Rainbow Six Extraction is all about completing different objectives across various maps. Or at the very least, flee with your life before being captured. Essentially, with a coordinated effort and the proper grouping of Operators, it’s possible to come out of any mission victorious. You’ll be able to choose from different characters called Operators, each with their own special item or ability. You’ll will be outnumbered and somewhat weak – it’ll only take a few hits before you’re incapacitated – and items like ammo boxes are finite. While the maps themselves don’t change, the enemies, items like ammo and health, and objectives are procedurally generated. Instead, REACT (Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team) must complete different objectives in order to learn how to take down the Achaeans once and for all. The alien threat isn’t easily dispatched with a hail of bullets. It’s up to players, solo or up to groups of three, to head into these alien infested zones to complete a variety of missions.
